Cafe Assistant (Part Time)
About us:
We are a small independent family run cafe specialising in healthy Vietnamese food based in Lower Clapton.
We have 4 tables in the cafe alongside delivery and takeaway orders so we are looking for staff who can work flexibly & have the ability to multi-task.
Role overview:
Cafe Assistants would be expected to switch between serving the customers in the cafe, assisting with preparing dishes, liaising with the kitchen staff and managing the flow of online orders during busy periods.
Immediate start - from £12 per hour increasing based on experience and time with us
Hours - flexible/part Time: Weekday evening and Weekend afternoon shifts available
Healthy staff meals and drinks (Of Course!)
Role responsibilities:
Taking orders from in person customers using a POS system
Accepting and managing flow of online orders using POS system
Preparation of raw ingredients during service - washing, chopping, peeling
Basic preparation and assembly of dishes during service
Liaising with kitchen staff to manage order flow
Packing up delivery/takeaway orders
Checking orders and handing over to customers/delivery drivers
Washing of bowls & cutlery during service
Collect and wash up equipment and utensils at end of service
Cleaning floors, equipment and tables at the end of service
You:
Good level of English required
A real passion for good food!
Working knowledge of HACCP + health + safety
Are pro active, organised, efficient and calm under pressure
Reliable & Punctual
Keen to progress in a growing business that treats employees like family!
